Course Description
New summer camp course in 2008! Students in this summer kids’ camp will have the opportunity to sample two amazing iD Tech Camps Courses – Video Game Creation & Web Design & Flash Animation. Spend half the day creating an awesome video game and the other half designing a website to promote it! This summer camp for youth is perfect for students who like to mix it up. Here is a sample of what students will work on:

Video Game Creation – Learn the creative game-making process from theory to project completion. From creating custom characters to outfitting levels with awesome sounds and soundtracks, we’ll teach you how to make the game you’ve been dreaming about. Utilizing the easy yet extremely powerful Clickteam® Multimedia Fusion 2 Developer as well as Adobe Flash, learn to create a complex, realistic video game with everything from health meters to collision detection.

Web Design & Flash Animation - Create your own website and have it published online using the latest versions of Dreamweaver®, Flash®, and Photoshop® CS2. Students in this web design camp will begin by learning to hand-code HTML, then move on to working with the powerful, yet user-friendly web editor Dreamweaver. Learn to incorporate customized graphics designed using Photoshop CS2 and make your website POP with dynamic animations created with Flash. Design animated menus, rollover and time-based effects, image galleries, animations that react to mouse functions and more.

Curriculum is customizable and tailored to the student's level. All students will go home with a completed project at the end of the week. Projects and curriculum will vary as students may choose to spend more one topic over another.

Who should take this course?
If you are unsure of what course to take this summer, or want to sample two topics in one week, then impress your friends with a video game AND website that you design from scratch. This summer kids camp is perfect for students ages 9-12.

How We Teach
iD Tech Camps students receive the highest caliber technology education any summer camp has to offer! Students in this summer camp for kids teens will be able to move along faster and more independently, or collaborate utilizing our customized lessons—while still receiving our gold standard 1-on-1 instruction (average 6 students per staff). Using the latest in hardware and software, our all-adult staff works hands-on with each student from project theory to completion (you won’t find counselors-in-training at iD). Repeating this course over several weeks?
Our curriculum in this web design summer camp is designed so that students can return for multiple weeks, taking their skills to a new level. Our new curriculum is designed for beginning through advanced learners, allowing each student to move along at their own pace with customized lessons for a fun and appropriate challenge. It is not uncommon for students to stretch their skills in this course for 3, 4, and even 5 consecutive weeks. Below is an example of how your student’s skill level may increase if they take this course for multiple weeks.
